+48V = phantom power
Only press this button for DI boxes and capacitor / condensor microphones.
CHECK before switching on phantom power for ribbon microphones as some can be damaged though many new ones need phantom for the pre-amp.
Read the instructions - I know some sound engineers dont ever do this :-)
Do not press this if a PC or Laptop is plugged in through a jack converter, it can often blow the PCB and brick your laptop - Cal :-)
Some dynamic mics sound different if +48V is on so best leave it off for dynamic mics.
Mute the channel before connecting or disconnecting any mics, DIs or anything else or things may go bang !
